Dr. Simon is also a U.S. Navy veteran and the author of the children’s book Simon Says Smile: a story about a child with braces who grows up to become an orthodontist. That same spirit of resilience, kindness, and community runs through everything we do at our Chamblee practice. We are not just here to straighten teeth. Simon Says Smile Orthodontics was built on a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves personalized care, not a rushed appointment in a high-volume practice. Dr. Hazie Simon founded this Chamblee orthodontic practice after years of clinical experience, driven by a desire to slow down, get to know his patients, and truly invest in their outcomes. He wanted to follow kids from their first evaluation all the way through to a confident, transformed smile, and to be a familiar, trusted presence throughout that journey.
That vision shaped everything about Simon Says Smile, from the modern, welcoming office design to the individualized treatment plans Dr. Simon crafts for every patient. This is a practice built for the Chamblee community, with a team that genuinely cares about the families it serves and the smiles it helps create.
Pediatric Orthodontics
When Early Treatment Transitions to Phase 2
Phase 1 treatment addresses the jaw and bite foundation, but most children will still go on to Phase 2 treatment once their permanent teeth are fully in, typically in the early teen years. Phase 2 uses braces or clear aligners to bring the teeth into their final aligned positions. When Phase 1 has been done well, Phase 2 is often simpler, shorter, and more predictable because the jaw is already in a better position to support the outcome.
Phase 2 treatment options at Simon Says Smile include:

- Invisalign Teen for patients who prefer a clear, removable option
- Retainers to maintain results after active treatment is complete
